Our DT project this term involved researching seasonal soups.  The children explored and tasted a variety of soups.  Linking with our WW2 history topic and our recent harvest of the year 6 potatoes, we decided that the children should make potato soup.  The children understood that potatoes are a seasonal vegetable and were a rationed food item during WW2.  The children followed a 1940s rationed potato soup recipe. The children had mixed reviews after tasting it, but they loved the experience of cooking together.
