Wildmoor Heath School Update

Wildmoor Heath is a thriving, community school with an inclusive, child-centred approach, focused on the well-being and achievement of every one of our pupils and staff.

In 2019, we were delighted to achieve outstanding academic results, exceeding national expectations, in all the primary phases - the Early Years Foundation Stage, Year 1 Phonics Awareness Check and the important Year 6 SATs. This is a credit to our exceptional teaching team and a testament to the determination and self-esteem of our pupils.

For many families, Wildmoor Heath is their school of preference. Our pupil numbers have increased significantly recently; we are now full for entry to Reception in September 2020. We also have waiting lists in Years 4, 5 and 6 for September 2020. In Years 1, 2 and 3 we have a few places for September. All applications to join our school should be made through Bracknell Forest Local Authority, including those parents who wish to join our waiting lists (e-mail: schooladmissions@bracknell-forest.gov.uk).

If you would like to experience our unique school and learning approach, please call the school office on 01344 772034 or contact Mrs Attfield on: secretary@wildmoorheath.org.uk.

Throughout the CV-19 pandemic, Wildmoor Heath School has been proud to remain open to serve our community.

Our school has been open to priority pupils of Critical Workers’ children since 23 March 2020; since1st June 2020 we have progressively welcomed more of our learners back into school. As of Tuesday, 23rd June 2020, we have around half of our learners in school.

All our staff are actively supporting the teaching and learning of seven ‘bubble’ groups of 15 pupils (maximum), all in separated classrooms with designated outdoor areas of our vast school field.   We operate staggered drop off and pick up times, and rigorous health and safety procedures, which have been recently, validated by our Health and Safety consultants.

During the pandemic, the continued learning progress and mental well-being of all our learners and staff have been our top priorities. The Wildmoor Heath teachers are continuing to provide a unique, comprehensive home-learning package for all our learners, both those in school and those at home. We ensure the well-being of our teachers by enabling them to  work from home at least two days per week to plan this valuable learning. Parents have widely praised the quality of our lessons, activities and resources.

The Department for Education (DfE) has published guidance for parents at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/closure-of-educational-settings-information-for-parents-and-carers/reopening-schools-and-other-educational-settings-from-1-june .
