Leadership Appointments from September 2018
Dear Parents and Carers
Re: Leadership appointments at Wildmoor Heath Primary School
I am delighted to be able to share the news of our new appointments, after a lengthy period of searching to find the very best people who will continue the great work of Mr Studley and Mr Peaple.
We advertised the vacancy of headteacher post before Easter and were disappointed by receiving few applications. We took the courageous decision to delay and advertise again and this attempt provided us with four high calibre candidates. Interviews were held last week and one candidate excelled in every part of the challenging process. Mrs Leslie Semper was offered the post and accepted. Her appointment was approved by the Board of Greenshaw Learning Trust yesterday. Mrs Semper is an experienced headteacher who will be an asset to Wildmoor Heath. She was the applicant favoured by the governors, staff and children who interviewed her.
Earlier this week, we interviewed for the deputy headteacher post. We had many applications for this role and again, the favoured candidate by all involved in the selection process was appointed. Mr Richard Thomas, who is an experienced deputy headteacher will join the school in September.
Between now and the end of the school year, Mr Strudley will continue to be responsible for the day to day leadership and management of the school. Mrs Semper is going to work for the school for two days a week from after half-term until the 6th July to get to know the staff and children in preparation for her start in September. She is very keen to get to know you and you will see her on the gate on days when she is on site. In addition, we are planning some events before the end of the summer term when you can meet the new leaders. I sincerely hope you will take the opportunity to join us and I am sure that you will feel confident that Wildmoor Heath will continue to go from strength to strength.
Thank you for your patience and for trusting the governors to find the best leaders for the school.
With kind regards,
CHAIR OF GOVERNORS
